About Linda Sherwood

Linda Sherwood, Associate Broker

I answer phone calls, texts and emails. I realize this is one of the major frustrations the general public has dealing with agents. I get dozens of calls and emails daily, and I work hard to reply as quickly as possible. I represent my clients' interests no matter what. This means I am on your side and working for you to get the best deal possible.

Not Your Typical Realtor. Not Your Typical Realtor Bio.

You loathe typical real estate agent bios. Don’t worry, I do too. They’re like cardboard — stiff, bland, and identical to every other bio out there. Instead of boasting ad nauseum about awards and accomplishments you’re not interested in, I’m taking the novel approach of actually giving you what you want — real answers to questions you’re probably wondering right now.

Will you return my calls, texts and emails?
Yes. Without question. I realize this is one of the major frustrations the general public has with dealing with agents. I get dozens of calls and emails daily, and I work hard to reply as quickly as possible.

I’ve met many Realtors who are jerks. Are you?
I’d like to say I’m not a jerk. I definitely try NOT to be a jerk. But in reality, the answer to this question probably depends on who you ask. If you ask certain agents who have stood between my clients and their real estate goals, they’ll probably say “yes”. A handful of people think I leave golden footprints in the sand. Those are the two extremes, and most people’s opinion falls somewhere closer to the footprints and/or middle.

Here’s what I can tell you: I’m honest and candid. I take pride in being approachable and friendly. And if you need a quick real estate brain, or a strong dose of honesty, you’re in the right place. Loyalty to family, clients, and friends is one of my core values. Want to really find out if I’m a jerk? Mess with one of those people.

I do not think of myself as a typical Sales Person. I’m not trying to lock you into purchasing something you don’t want to buy or pushing you to sell your property when you feel uncomfortable about the deal. I am willing to take the time to help you find the home that is right for you.

Do You Have experience doing exactly what I need?
Until you tell me what you need, there is no way of knowing. These are “strong suits” of mine:

  • Marketing
  • Listing Homes
  • First-Time Homebuyers
  • Vacation Homes
  • Investment Opportunities

If your goal or situation isn’t represented on that list, don’t worry. Contact me anyway. If I can’t help, I can get you referred to an another agent who can. What kind of work are you really good at? On a personal level, I’m pretty good at writing (I love telling a story!), and I’m not too shabby at photography (I’ve been told I have a great eye).

On a professional level, here are the skill-sets and accomplishments that I’ve developed over the years:

  • Listening. Unfortunately, it’s a lost art these days.
  • Negotiating
  • Photography
  • Marketing
  • 2019 President Paul Bunyan Board of Realtors
  • President Elect PBBR, 2018
  • Director MLS Board of PBBR, 2016-1017
  • A Multi-Million Dollar Producer
  • Many of my clients are repeat clients!

  • Graduate of Grayling High School
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Central Michigan University
  • Master’s Degree, Central Michigan University
  • Real Estate License, State Of Michigan, May 2014
  • Real Estate Broker, State of Michigan 2018

What do clients think of you?

My clients are better suited to answer this for you. Here’s what some of them have said:

We have been working with Linda to find hunting property and a cottage on the lake. She went out of her way in finding us the perfect properties. She is extremely knowledgeable in the Houghton Lake area and was willing to show us properties anytime we were able to come up. She even went to township meetings to get information we needed before we purchased the property. She helped negotiate for the best deal. We highly recommend Linda. – Garth and Roseanne

My wife and I just purchased a home in Roscommon MI. I accepted a job transfer from Kalamazoo to West Branch on a Wednesday, and we found Linda as a buyer’s agent online that night. Linda called me the following day and sent me listings that met our criteria. She was able to schedule all 10 showings we wanted for that Saturday and Sunday, and we wrote an offer on our dream house that Sunday. We were on a very tight schedule, since we had to be out of our rental home within 35 days. Linda was able to meet our very tight time requirements. She was very responsive to all communications, and was always available by phone, text or e-mail. Linda was very proactive, and took care of all our requests in a very timely manner. She made the home buying process as easy and fluid as possible! On our way to the closing, the axle on our snowmobile trailer broke, and we had to leave it on the side of the road. To save us time on this hectic day, Linda volunteered to go to the towing company to give them our money to pay our tow bill. She also said we could use her trailer to transport our snowmobile and four wheeler, if needed. My wife and I were very impressed with Linda’s concern and willingness to go above and beyond to help us out! We would highly recommend Linda as an agent for anyone looking to buy in the area! — Robert and Tisha

Linda made the whole process very easy and understandable. No pressure and she went beyond to help answer my questions and get answers promptly. Very pleasant person.

Linda was the selling agent for our home in Houghton Lake. She was very responsive and helpful during the entire process. I would use her again if I needed help with further real estate in Houghton Lake.
